CACCI, in cooperation with the Foundation for Commerce and Culture Interchange (FCCI), Computer Skills Foundation (CSF) Taiwan, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) India, and Digital Skills Organisation (DSO) Australia, is pleased to invite you to join our upcoming webinar on \u201cCross-Border Cooperation in Digital Skilling and Innovation\u201d<\/a> this April 18, 2023, at 2:00-3:30 PM Taipei Time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooperation across countries in training for digital skilling and innovation has become a global trend and fast becoming a necessity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Asia-Pacific region, the standards for ICT skills are set per country, with certifications provided by national organizations. There are no regional or international standards currently in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As such, the webinar aims to discuss what the current standards are for digital skills across different countries, and what can be done to facilitate cross-border skilling by addressing the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. What are the current issues being encountered?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. What can enterprises do to improve the recruitment of a digitally skilled workforce?<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Dennis Hu<\/strong>
      Chairman, Asian ICT Council, Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Dennis Hu is Chair of CACCI\u2019s Asian ICT Council and President of the Foundation for Commerce & Culture Interchange (FCCI) in Taiwan. He established FCCI in 2010 to promote international cooperation and collaboration in Smart++ industries development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Additionally, Dr. Hu currently serves as senior advisor at the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), having previously been the Association\u2019s Director General of International Cooperation for over 15 years. During his tenure, he focused on international marketing, research of industry and technology trend, and government ICT policies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Hu has initiated and joined many initiatives on cross-border cooperation with India, Australia, China, Myanmar, Singapore, New Zealand, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Hu is also a frequent judge and speaker in technology innovation and startup venture activities, including iAwards Australia, APICTA, APEC Accelerator Challenge, and Computex Taipei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Xiao Jia-Bin<\/strong><\/a>
      General Secretary, Computer Skills Foundation (CSF), Taiwan<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Xiao Jia-Bin currently serves as the General Secretary of Taiwan\u2019s Computer Skills Foundation (CSF), which was established to provide educational guidance and an avenue to advancement for talented individuals. The Foundation aims to help the government and enterprises cultivate and identify excellent talents with practical abilities, by using advanced digital technology to assist and ensure safety and quality in digital transformation. CSF provides computer and language certifications, trainee services, human research services and publication services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Additionally, Dr. Xiao is a World Skills Competition Expert of Trade 9, Information Technology, and Chief Expert of Trade 9, Information Technology for the National Skill Competition in Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      He was born in 1954 and holds a Ph.D. in Education from National Taiwan Normal University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi<\/strong>
      Director General, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), India<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi is Director General of the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Before joining NIELIT, Dr. Tripathi worked as a Professor at Delhi Technological University (DTU) in New Delhi. In DTU, he also worked as Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Coordinator of Intellectual Property Rights Cell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Tripathi started his career as a research scientist with the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) (Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India) Gandhinagar in 1994. He worked there for five years on several R&D projects. In 1999, he joined the Center for Electronics Design and Technology of India at Gorakhpur as Senior Design Engineer. Here, Dr. Tripathi worked for 10 years on various design and development projects in the areas of Information, Electronics and Communication Technology (IECT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      From 2009 to 2012, he was the Joint Director in the Headquarters of NIELIT and worked on various projects like Digitization and Biometric capture of usual residents of India (NPR) development of manpower in IECT Skills, ICT based Skill Testing and Certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      He is an active researcher with more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals, 1 patent and 3 books in his name. His google scholar h-index is 20 and i-10 index is 40. He has guided 15 PhDs and several MTech theses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Alison Wall<\/strong>
      Chief of Staff, Digital Skills Organisation (DSO), Australia<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Alison Wall has over twenty years of experience as a professional in the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Through her work with numerous training institutions and government agencies, she has gained significant expertise in training and assessment design, program implementation, and qualification packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      She has led state and national initiatives to increase industry skills and address workforce shortages, including the development of workforce capability training and curriculum at the National Broadband Network (NBN Co), where she was responsible for accredited, non-accredited and verification programs to skill the national workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Wall has also served as a member and vice-chair of the ICT Industry Reference Committee, responsible for advising the Australian Industry Skills Committee on the skill requirements for various sectors of the ICT industry, and ensuring the incorporation of industry skill into the development and review of national training packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Currently, she is the Chief of Staff at the Digital Skills Organisation, integrating the efforts of the organisation to develop sustainable employer-led approaches to create a digitally upskilled, job-ready workforce for Australia. She is also responsible for leading the organisation\u2019s transition to become one of ten national Jobs and Skills Councils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Wall  has a Bachelor of Science, a TAE qualification, and is pursuing a Master of Education (Learning and Leadership) at the University of Technology Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dato Palani
      Chair, ASEAN Future Workforce Council, Malaysia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dato’ J. Palaniappan currently holds the position as the Chairman of the ASEAN Future Workforce Council (AFWC), a body led by business and industry that advances ASEAN wide action on future skills and TVET development and serves as a member of the ASEAN TVET Council and as Executive Council Member of the newly formed Malaysian TVET Council. Concurrently he is also serving as the Director of Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDCorp), an agency under the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia, which being entrusted to manage employers fund and catalyse the development of current and future workforce in Malaysia. He also serves as the Council Member in the two largest industry and employers based federations in Malaysia is as the Vice President of the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) and the Council Member of Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Dato Palaniappan holds a Master\u2019s degree in Quality & Productivity Improvement and double degree in Economics & Jurisprudence. He was the recipient of the Global Human Resources Leadership Award from World HRD Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Mr. George Abraham is Chairman of The GA Group Pte Ltd, comprising George Abraham & Associates Pte Ltd, which is into SME Development and Consultancy; Asia Pacific Business Pte Ltd, which organises country-focussed conferences; and Global Indian Business Network Pte Ltd, which assists cross-border trade and investment within the region He serves on various government and civic organisations. He is also a consultant to various UN Agencies in SME development and private sector capacity building in and outside the region. He has worked extensively in various business associations articulating the views of the private sector and representing these organizations at international fora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Charly Gordon
      Global Policy Lead, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)<\/strong>
      Charly Gordon is Global Policy Lead at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris where he focuses on policy issues linked to small and medium-sized enterprises and to the digital economy. Prior to taking on this role, Charly Gordon held several posts within the UK Foreign Office and Department for International Trade. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Sciences Po.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Charmaine Leong
      President, Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association (PYEA)<\/strong>
      Charmaine Co is the President of the Philippine Young Entrepreneurs Association (PYEA), the appointed youth arm of the Philippine Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the recognized young entrepreneurs association of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
      She also represents the Philippines both as the Country Chair in the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council (AYEC) and as an Executive Committee Member of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Asia Pacific (YEGAP), a subcommittee of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).
      In 2011, she co-founded Synersign Corporation, a holding company and consultancy group. Synersign proudly specializes in marketing, R&D, and tech and innovation. It has developed projects in a wide array of fields that include service, tech, real estate, and investments.
